My instruments are inspired by the great Italian masters of violin making of the 17th and 18th centuries. I make violins, violas and cellos to commission for professionals, students and serious amateur players, I also try and have a few in stock for musicians to try. You can contact me to discuss your requirements, so much of the sound of an instrument can be influenced by the model, wood selection and set up.

I see what I do is trying to provide a musician with a tool. A tool that is powerful and balanced across its range, that has a focus and depth to the sound, and that gives the musician a broad palette of tone which they can use.

The finish of my instruments can be 'new' or slightly 'antiqued' giving the appearance of an instrument that has been well loved for 100 or so years. The varnishes used I cook myself using various resins and oils.

I use the same traditional tools and techniques that have been used for centuries, and also keep up to date with the latest research, and it is truly a new golden age of violin making.
